Purpose

The purpose of the CAUM is to research and develop frontier theories and innovative technologies of urban management from an interdisciplinary perspective.       

The Chinese Association of Urban Management (CAUM) is a nonprofit social group established according to law. The CAUM aims to research and develop frontier theories and innovative technologies of urban management from an interdisciplinary perspective as well as provide a platform for cross-strait academic exchanges on urban planning, governing, administering, and regulating. By doing so, the CAUM intends to to investigate and solve urban problems derived from global urbanization, enhance cross-strait academic research and practical operations pertaining to urban management, and improve people’s living environments.

Missions of the CAUM:

  1. Research, develop, and innovate the most effective management theories and technologies to solve intricate urban problems arising from global urbanization.
  2. Provide a platform for academic exchanges on urban planning, governing, regulating, and administering to investigate urban affairs and propose solutions from an interdisciplinary perspective.
  3. Promote and support teaching, research, and practice related to urban management in Chinese-speaking regions (including Taiwan, mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao) in compliance with the regulations specified in Article 33-1 of the “Act Governing Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area” without violating relevant regulations or engaging in any activity of political nature.
  4. Organize incentive activities to facilitate the development of unban management as a discipline.
  5. Promote or support the publication of professional and outstanding cultural or educational journals and books related to urban management without violating Article 34 of the “Act Governing Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area” and relevant regulations specified in the “Regulations for Advertising Goods, Labor and General Services of the Mainland Area in the Taiwan Area.”
  6. Other activities that correspond with the purpose of the CAUM.
